Mashpee Firefighters attended the funeral of fallen Boston Firefighter Lt Edward Walsh on Wednesday April 2, 2014. Lt Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy lost their lives at a structure fire at 296 Beacon Street in Boston on March 26, 2014. On Wednesday, December 18th, Mashpee Firefighters Local 2519 conducted a community service project for a local family in need. A couple of weeks prior to the event, members of Local 2519 became aware of a Town of Mashpee resident in immediate need of a wheel chair ramp in order to access his home.
Daniel Bohnenberger had filed another prohibited practice charge on July 15, 2013 against the Mashpee Permanent Firefighters Association, Local 2519 and once again the Department of Labor Relations has dismissed the charge on December 11, 2013. Probable cause was not found in this case and Local 2519 did not violate the law as was alleged in this case.

11 Mashpee Firefighters recently joined 8 Falmouth Firefighters in a rigorous week long boating course taught by the USCG. The class included both classroom and on-the-water training. It is designed to certify the Firefighters as Boat Crew Members, the Coast Guards initial certification level. Pictures can be found in the Photo Gallery.
